Kenneth Nill, PhD – Chairman

Xradia Founder and Serial Entrepreneur
Ken has extensive experience with high technology startups, having founded and served in executive management of several companies, all of which save Xradia having been acquired. The companies include Lasertron; the pioneering fiber-optic components, Laser Analytics; a scientific instrumentation company, Revise; a supplier of backend equipment to the semiconductor industry, and Xradia. He is now retired, other than his involvement with Xradia, and enjoys travel, golf and grandchildren, and dividing his time between Lexington, MA and La Jolla, CA.

Rod Browning

CEO, Xradia
With over 20 years of technology industry experience, Rod became CEO of Xradia in 2007. Most recently, Rod was president & CEO of OnWafer Technologies, a venture backed start-up in the semiconductor process control and yield enhancement area, which he led to successful acquisition by KLA-Tencor. He began his career with Tencor Instruments and through the KLA-Tencor merger rose to Group VP, where he was responsible for all customer-facing activities and grew the Wafer Inspection division to more than $800M in revenue. He earned a BA in Physics & Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Wenbing Yun, PhD

Founder, President and CTO, Xradia
Wenbing is the founder and CTO of Xradia. Under his entrepreneurial leadership, Xradia has established itself as a leader in high resolution, 3D X-ray imaging, bringing new and powerful capabilities to the world of research, development and manufacturing. A widely respected expert with over 25 years of experience in developing advanced X-ray optics and X-ray imaging techniques, Wenbing has received two prestigious R&D 100 awards, published over 100 papers, and has filed over 38 patents. Prior to founding Xradia he was a scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory. He holds a PhD from SUNY at Stony Brook, Long Island.

Alexei A. Andreev, PhD

Executive Vice President/Managing Director, Harris & Harris Group
Alexei is EVP and Managing Director of Harris & Harris Group. Previously he was with Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a venture capital firm, where he was exclusively focused on nanotechnology and material science investment opportunities. While at DFJ, he played an integral role in sourcing and funding of Solicore, D-Wave Systems, Intematix and EoPlex, where he served as an active Board Director or Observer. Previously, he worked for TLcom Capital Partners and Renaissance Capital Group/Sputnik Funds. Before he started his business career, Mr. Andreev was a researcher at the Centre of Nanotechnology, ISAN (RAS), in Troitsk, Russia where he was focused on optical and electrical properties of Quantum Dot heterostructures in strong magnetic fields.

Nicholas P. Economou, PhD

CEO, ALIS Corporation
Nick is co-founder and CEO of ALIS Corporation, a Carl Zeiss SMT Company, a developer and manufacturer of ultra-resolution microscopes for the semiconductor, materials science, nanotechnology and life sciences industries. He began his career as a researcher at Bell Laboratories and MIT Lincoln Laboratory before becoming involved in his first start-up company in 1984. Over the last 20+ years, he has served as chief executive officer for several successful venture-backed technology companies in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries.

David K Lam, PhD

Chairman, David Lam Group
David is currently chairman of the David Lam Group. David is best known for Lam Research, which he founded in 1980. Under his guidance as CEO, the company introduced the industry's first fully automated plasma etching system for semiconductor manufacturing and has since become a global leader in semiconductor capital equipment. He now heads the David Lam Group, a technology investment and business advisory firm. Lam has assisted companies in a wide range of fields, including semiconductor and semiconductor equipment, micro- and nano-device manufacturing, computer hardware and software, medical devices, and energy infrastructure.

Warren Lazarow – Corporate Counsel and Secretary

Managing Partner, O'Melveny & Myers LLP
Warren has broad experience in the general corporate representation of emerging growth corporations, public companies, venture capital firms, private equity funds and investment banks. He represents both public and private clients and has experience with over 100 mergers and acquisitions, corporate spinouts and spin-ins, and buyout transactions, and over 100 public offerings. Warren serves as general counsel to many clients and their management and boards of directors, helping to shape and execute their business, acquisitions and liquidity strategies, and advising them on day-to-day legal, corporate, regulatory and other strategic issues. Warren was named for the fourth time to Forbes Magazine's "Midas List" of the Top 100 Technology Dealmakers in the World in 2008.

Laura Oliphant, PhD

Investment Manager, Intel Capital, Board Observer
Laura makes and manages investments in the semiconductor capital equipment and materials areas. She joined Intel in 1991 and Intel Capital in 2001. Prior to joining Intel Capital, she was one of the key coordinators for Intel's transition to the 300 mm wafer size. As part of this project, Laura managed the selection activities for about 20% of the fabrication tools, which required her to interact with key executives of the major equipment suppliers. In 2000, Laura served as the industry co-chair for the SEMATECH Metrology and Yield Management Tools Program Advisory Group. Laura has also served in the Technology Development Group where she was a process and yield engineer. She developed a lithography technology that is currently used in Intel's mobile processors.

Parviz Tayebati, PhD

Serial Entrepreneur and Founder, Camros Capital, LLC
Parviz is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Before founding Camros Capital, a private investment and venture capital firm in March 2007, he was chairman and CEO of AZNA Corporation which he co-founded later sold to Finisar Corporation. Prior to that Parviz was VP of business development for Nortel Networks Optical Components. During the same period, he was President of CoreTek, Inc, a company he founded and ran as CEO until it was acquired by Nortel Networks in March 2000 for $1.43B. During his tenure at CoreTek, he developed and managed several government contracts which led to the breakthrough technology of Tunable Optical VCSEL technology, which utilized MEMs for the first time in optical communications. Parviz has also served as a Program Manager of optical computing technologies at Foster-Miller, Inc., now a subsidiary of QinetiQ.
